Fruit hails from old bushvine grenache in the Piekenierskloof. A bright clarity of red cherries and wild strawberries, dark flora and white pepper on the nose deepens on the palate in layers of silk, and damson fruit, hints of toffee tumble along with tilled earth and smoke, broad and expansive. The cool mineral acidity from the long cold nights of the Piekenierskloof tames this boisterous grape and draws the fruit along into a spiced finish. (94)
