Resplendent. From a single vineyard in the Hemel-en-Aarde, just 2.06ha in size – harvesting is obsessive to create the layers and complexity winemaker Craig Wessels is looking for. 2019 proved to be a challenging vintage, which meant a total of nine passes through the vineyard. Top notes of oatmeal and baked lemon before yellow peach. The palate is fleshier than previous vintages and this just adds to its depth. A properly chalky texture with a fine and flinty finish.
